Neu Folk Revival.


LeQuiVive Gallery & guest curator Max Kauffman present Neu Folk Revival, a group show exploring notions of traditional art making. The title refers to a new movement working in these confines; or rather a cross section of artists from different realms that make work that speaks to this tradition. By celebrating these techniques, it is hoped that new appreciation for work done by hand, done for the simple act of creation is looked at in line with great artists spanning back to the dawn of civilization. At its core, it is visual storytelling, done by the everyday man, the craftsmen, the self-taught, and the sometimes obsessive. Neu Folk Revival expands the vision and subtle story of LeQuiVive as we combine the folky illustrations, the train hopping moniker, writers of street art, & graffito in order to explore our current society through the view of the new Americana.

Rutger Termohlen, Super-A and i are joining forces in Luxembourg next week for the Goodbye Monopol project, we are going to paint a big mural for several days, there’s a great line-up with artists, stay tuned……

25-8-13. Mural in Heerlen with Super-A


In the last couple of days Super-A and i were working in Heerlen for the Mural festival. Heerlen has a lot of mines that were closed in the seventies, but before that the mine workers took a little bird underground to see if there were any gas leaks.
When the bird passed out or died they knew they had to leave. A kind of sad story, so we covered up the gas mask a bit with more cheerful work. Thanks to everybody who came by and a big thank you to the people from the Mural festival for having us and take care of everything.

8-7-12. Screenprint for The Jaunt.

Here is the screen print for The Jaunt, i decided to print it in blue tones, because of the amazing tile work at the Sao Bente station in Porto.
