Pre-order the print at The Jaunt.

You can pre-order the print that i’m going to make during my trip to Porto now. The print i’m going to make will be in the line of my drawings, but with influences that the city of Porto will give me. So this is your chance to order it.

The Jaunt.

The second trip of The Jaunt is taking us to the beautiful coastlines of the city Porto in Portugal. While the northern provinces of Portugal are known for it’s production of the Port wine, the coastline is widely known for it’s superb surfing opportunities. Meanwhile the most exciting and interesting contemporary art and illustration is largely coming from Porto, instead of the capital Lisbon.

The Dutch artist Collin van der Sluijs is based in Maastricht, in the most southern part of the Netherlands. For his trip he will travel down south even more to enjoy the atmosphere, culture and people of Porto. Collin’s work is best described as the personal pleasures and struggles in his daily life, translated to his own visual language. It will be very interesting to see what he comes back with after spending five days in Porto, and how this translate to his art.

‘Urban and Beyond’

8 artists present their recent work

From 10 April until 19 may 2013

Participating artists: Tamme de Boer, Graphic Surgery, Remko Koopman, ROYALSTEEZ, Collin van der Sluijs, Paul Tas,
Rutger Termohlen

Six artists who all had their roots at the streets will now show the public that the graffiti scene was one of the best training schools, but they have moved on to the next level. The link with street art in their works is unmistakable, recognizable by swiftness in the pencil strokes and directness in the image. This in combination with their technical qualities and own signatures makes their art fresh and vibrant. The contemporary art world should be warned: the next generation is here to stay!

17-3-12. ‘The Parade’ in progress.

Started a new work this week titled ‘The Parade’ With animals that i saw around me since childhood.Growing up in a small village gave me the chance to see them and be fascinated by them.To be honest, i’ve always been more interested in animals instead of humans. So i’m painting a dedication to them in a parade. More soon.
